At TDAS, we provide safe, secure and trauma-informed accommodation for individuals and families fleeing domestic abuse. Our accommodation services are designed not only to offer physical safety but also to support emotional recovery and long-term stability.

We recognise that leaving an abusive situation can be one of the most difficult steps a person takes. That’s why we work to ensure each resident — adult or child — feels welcomed, respected and supported from the moment they arrive.

A holistic approach to refuge

Our refuges provide more than a roof over your head. We offer:

  • Welcome packs with essentials like toiletries, bedding, food, and toys for children
  • A warm, inclusive environment that celebrates cultural and religious events throughout the year
  • One-to-one and group support, both emotional and practical
  • Strong links to external services for housing, legal, medical and financial needs

Support is personalised and non-judgmental, helping survivors regain control of their lives and feel empowered to take the next steps forward.

Dispersed accommodation in the community

TDAS also manages two self-contained units for families who may need more space or privacy. These are ideal for:

  • Mothers with three or more children
  • Fathers with children
  • Families with teenage sons aged 14+

These units are most suitable for families with lower-level support needs, who can live more independently with regular outreach support from TDAS staff.

How to access support

You can be referred by a professional (e.g. GP, housing officer, social worker) or you can contact us directly to discuss whether the service is right for you.

You don’t have to go through this alone – our team is here to help you feel safe, supported and heard.

If you think you are experiencing domestic abuse, contact us for support and talk to a domestic abuse advisor at TDAS.
