TDAS offers child-focused, one-to-one support for children and young people aged 5–18 who have been affected by domestic abuse or are currently experiencing abuse in their own relationships. Sessions are delivered in a safe space, typically at school or a neutral setting, over 6–8 sessions (with flexibility based on individual needs).

Our sessions are interactive, creative and trauma-informed, giving children a space to talk, process, and heal. Support is adapted to the age and developmental needs of the child or young person and is delivered by trained Children and Young People’s Domestic Abuse Advisors.

What might be covered?

  • Understanding what domestic abuse is
  • Exploring healthy vs. unhealthy relationships
  • Identifying and expressing emotions safely
  • Developing coping strategies for anger, anxiety and sadness
  • Completing personal safety plans
  • Building self-esteem and recognising strengths
  • Strengthening family and peer support networks
  • Exploring how abuse affects family dynamics, including separation or change of home

How to access support

You can be referred by a professional (e.g. GP, housing officer, social worker) or you can contact us directly to discuss whether the service is right for you.

You don’t have to go through this alone – our team is here to help you feel safe, supported and heard.

If you think you are experiencing domestic abuse, contact us for support and talk to a domestic abuse advisor at TDAS.
