TDAS offers a wide range of intervention and prevention services for children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse, are at risk of harm or are currently in their own unhealthy or abusive relationships.

Understanding Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse can affect people in different ways, and it is not always easy to recognise. It can include emotional, physical, sexual or controlling behaviour, and may happen within families or relationships.

For children and young people, living with domestic abuse can have a significant impact on how they feel, behave, and develop. Understanding what domestic abuse is can be an important first step in recognising when something isn’t right.

If you would like to learn more about domestic abuse, the signs to look out for and how it can affect individuals and families, you can visit our About domestic abuse page.

Our support

Our services are tailored to the age, needs, and lived experience of each child or young person, providing emotional support, education, advocacy and opportunities for recovery and growth.

We support children:

  • Who have witnessed or been exposed to abuse in the home
  • Living in TDAS accommodation
  • Experiencing abuse in their own intimate relationships
  • At risk of entering unhealthy or harmful relationships in the future

We work directly with children and their non-abusive parent/carer and in partnership with schools, professionals, and community services.

If you think you are experiencing domestic abuse, contact us for support and talk to a domestic abuse advisor at TDAS.
