Local Support You Can Trust

Trafford Domestic Abuse Services provides a range of support for individuals and families living in Trafford. Our team understands the local community and works closely with partner agencies to ensure you receive the right support at the right time.

We offer confidential advice, one to one support, group programmes, and specialist services for children and young people. Whether you are seeking immediate help or longer term support, we are here to work alongside you in a way that feels safe and right for you.

Safe accommodation

We provide safe, secure accommodation for individuals and families who need to leave an abusive situation, including refuge spaces for women and men. Our shared refuge accommodation is delivered in single sex spaces, recognising the safety and comfort this can provide.

We also offer dispersed accommodation, providing more flexible, self contained options to meet a wider range of needs. Our team will work with you to understand your circumstances and identify the most appropriate and safe option for you.

You will be supported in a safe, welcoming environment, with access to practical help, emotional support and tailored services to help you rebuild and move forward.

How to access support

You can be referred by a professional (e.g. GP, housing officer, social worker) or you can contact us directly to discuss whether the service is right for you.

You don’t have to go through this alone – our team is here to help you feel safe, supported and heard.

FAQs

I’m not ready to leave – can I still get support?

Yes. You don’t have to leave to receive help. We can support you with safety planning, emotional support, and advice tailored to your situation, whether you stay or decide to leave later.

What happens after I contact TDAS?

You’ll speak with a trained Domestic Abuse Advisor who will listen without judgement. They’ll explain your options and offer practical and emotional support. Everything you say is confidential (unless there’s a serious risk of harm).

Can I get help for someone else?

Yes. If you’re worried about a friend, family member, colleague or client, our Support Line can advise you on how to help them safely.

I’m not from Trafford — can you still help me?

Yes. While some services are Trafford-specific, we can signpost you to domestic abuse services in your area or work in partnership with your local provider.

Is support available in different languages?

Yes. We can provide interpreting services and translated materials when needed. We’ll always try to match you with culturally appropriate support where possible.
