Your experience matters — and your voice can drive change

At TDAS, we are committed to ensuring that the voices of those with lived experience of domestic abuse are heard, respected and reflected in the way services are designed and delivered.

We have a dedicated Victim’s Voice Facilitator, whose role is to actively engage with survivors of all ages and backgrounds to gather honest, meaningful feedback. This helps us understand what is working, where gaps exist and how we can improve access, quality, and outcomes.

Why your voice matters

Under the Domestic Abuse Act (2021), Local Authorities are required to launch Local Domestic Abuse Partnership Boards, which must include representation from victims and survivors, including children and young people. This ensures that those most affected by abuse have a say in the services meant to support them.

Our Victim’s Voice Facilitator:

  • Reaches out across the Trafford community to listen, advocate and amplify survivor experiences
  • Collects feedback from survivors in their own words, where possible
  • Shares insights directly at Trafford’s Local Partnership Board, helping to shape future service delivery and decision-making
  • Supports survivors to attend meetings or engagement forums if they feel ready
  • Ensures that victim voices are never an afterthought – but a driving force behind service improvements

How you can share your voice

We offer multiple flexible ways for survivors to share their views — ensuring the process is accessible, safe, and empowering. Feedback can be shared:

  • In person at community hubs or support groups
  • Through anonymous feedback forms or questionnaires
  • Via 1:1 conversations (in person, by phone or online)
  • Through online surveys that can be completed in your own time
  • You are free to choose how, when, and where you share your feedback. There is no obligation, and no detail is too small – every insight helps us grow and improve.

Share your feedback!

The Survivor Voice Advocate’s role is to reach as many survivors as possible, to be able to advocate for them and share their views at the Local Partnership Board. The Survivor’s s Voice is crucial in understanding what is working well in terms of the services available in Trafford and where there are areas for the development of services and information.

We are currently gathering anonymous feedback on services available in Trafford. If you’ve accessed domestic abuse support in the area — or tried to but faced barriers — we want to hear from you.

All surveys are short, fully anonymous, and take less than 10 minutes to complete.
