The Peak District Challenge

The Peak District Challenge is held annually in September, centered in Hathersage in the Hope Valley. The flagship trail run and trek event is organized by Wilderness Development and features distances from 25km up to 100 miles, with varying target times to complete on foot.

 

Key Event Details

  • Dates: Friday to Saturday, September 18-19
  • Start/Finish Location: Hathersage Memorial Hall, Hope Valley, Derbyshire (S32 1DU)

 

Available Distances & Target Times

You can choose to self-navigate or join a guided walking group, with target completion times ranging from 9 hours to 24 hours depending on your chosen route:

 

  • Copper Challenge: 25 km
  • Bronze Challenge: 50 km
  • Silver Challenge: 75 km
  • Gold Ultra: 100 km
  • 100 Miles in 24 Hours Ultra

Participants can hike, trek, or run the anticlockwise circular routes, with checkpoints situated every 10 km
