Olivia

Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

Community Team

Hi, my name is Olivia. I began volunteering with TDAS in July 2020 and shortly after started working as an Administrative Assistant. I then ran a Domestic Abuse Surgery twice a week and worked as the Integrated Partner Support Domestic Abuse Advisor for the Make a Change programme. I now work as an IDVA, independent domestic violence advocate. It is a true privilege to be able to listen to, to support and to empower clients to take the next step in living a life free from domestic abuse. I love everything TDAS does and stands for, it is an amazing team and organisation.

Jade

Homelessness Move-On Domestic Abuse Advisor

Community Team

I began working at TDAS as a volunteer before joining the team as a Support Worker, where I was involved in all of TDAS’s services from refuge to our programmes. I am now the Homelessness Move On Domestic Advisor and I provide a specialist trauma-informed support service for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to domestic abuse. My role is to ensure my clients have the information, advice and support they need to move on from domestic abuse safely. I help them understand their housing options, supporting them to stay in their own homes safely if they choose to do so, or to move to new safe accommodation where necessary. I work closely with housing services in Trafford to achieve the best possible outcomes for those experiencing domestic abuse in the borough, promoting safety and reducing the risk of future homelessness.

Sandra

Domestic Abuse Advisor

Community Team

I have worked for TDAS as the Floating Support, Domestic Abuse Advisor for nearly eight years. I support the residents of Trafford who have been affected by domestic abuse and its effects.
Every household I have supported has been as varied as is interesting. I have learned that domestic abuse matters to all of us regardless whether we have any experience of it.

I aim to work closely with the Client and other agencies to ensure all support needs are met and any barriers to accessing support are overcome.

Hi, my name is Lee. My background is 20 years as an holistic therapist. I worked for ten years for Victim Support as a Victim Care Officer and then later as Independent Victim Advocate. I joined TDAS in August 2018 as a Domestic Abuse worker for the Supporting Change Service. In 2022 I started a new role as an Integrated Partner Support (IPS) Domestic Abuse Advisor working in collaboration with TLC - providing community-based outreach support to clients whose partner or/ex-partner is accessing the Perpetrator programme. I’m passionate about supporting individuals to realise their own resilience, so they become empowered to make positive changes in their lives.

Jen

Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (Salford)

Community Team

Hi, I’m Jen. I have worked within this sector for over a decade supporting victims of domestic and sexual abuse, and I have been an IDVA in Salford for the last few years.
I have always believed that no one should live in fear, and no one should be scared in their own home. As individuals, and as a community, we need to walk alongside anyone who is experiencing abuse, and help them to live safely. Within my role of being an IDVA I am so thankful that I can do this. We provide practical and emotional support, helping to empower each person we support to make their own, informed decisions about their future, and to feel confident that they (and their children) can move forward with their lives, free from abuse.
I am very passionate about the work that our IDVA team does, and I am thankful that I work as part of an experienced team, who all have the same desire to support victims of abuse that I do.

Gemma

Community Team

Hi, my name is Gemma, I am one of the IDVA’s. I have been in this role for 3 years. However, I have worked with families that have needed support for 20 years.
I am very passionate about providing support and advocacy to help people who are/have suffered from domestic abuse, no one should be living in fear.
I love getting to know all my clients and no 2 days are ever the same, which definitely keeps the job interesting!
I like to unwind after a busy day by spending time with my family and friends and walking my dog.
