Our executive team

Samantha Fisher

Chief Executive Officer

I have worked in the voluntary sector since 2007. With a degree in Psychology, I originally set out to become a college teacher. But during my university years, while volunteering, I discovered my true calling, direct support work and I haven’t looked back since.

I’m extremely passionate about service-user involvement, and I believe the voices of those with lived experience should be at the heart of everything we do. This passion was shaped by my time as a Client Inclusion Champion, while working with homeless women facing multiple disadvantage.

I joined Team TDAS in 2010 as a Refuge Support Worker. From the moment I walked through the door, I knew TDAS was where I was destined to be.

Today, I feel privileged to lead such an amazing organisation filled with fantastic people delivering person-centred, empowering support to families escaping domestic abuse.

Our departments & support teams

Our leadership team

Our leadership team ensures services remain high quality, responsive and survivor-led.

Service managers and team leaders

Our managers oversee a range of domestic abuse services, including:

  • Refuge and accommodation services
  • Community outreach
  • IDVA and DAA teams
  • Children and young people’s services
  • Group programmes and prevention work

They are responsible for quality assurance, staff development, and maintaining trauma-informed practice across all areas of delivery. Many come from frontline roles themselves and bring deep expertise in survivor engagement and safeguarding.

Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs)

Our IDVAs offer specialist support to people at high risk of harm from domestic abuse. They help survivors understand their rights, develop safety plans, and navigate the criminal and civil justice system. Working closely with police, health professionals and social care, our IDVAs advocate for survivors’ safety and wellbeing every step of the way.

Domestic Abuse Advisors (DAAs)

Our DAAs provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing domestic abuse. They help service users access housing, legal support, mental health services, and more — offering a tailored, trauma-informed response to each person’s circumstances. Whether working in the community or embedded within partner agencies, they are a vital link in recovery and rebuilding.

Children and Young People (CYP) support workers

Our CYP team delivers both one-to-one and group-based support for children and young people who have lived through domestic abuse. They use creative, therapeutic approaches to help children express themselves, build resilience and heal. Whether supporting emotional wellbeing, school transitions or rebuilding family bonds, their work makes a lasting difference in young lives.

Organisational team: finance, admin & support services

Behind every frontline service is a team ensuring we run smoothly and sustainably. From managing payroll and budgets to coordinating referrals and maintaining our properties, our Finance and Admin teams are essential to our mission. They bring efficiency, attention to detail and a commitment to creating a safe, professional environment for staff and service users alike.

Specialist roles for voice, inclusion & impact

Survivor Voice Advocate

Our Victim Voice Facilitator works directly with individuals who have experienced abuse to ensure their voices are heard throughout our services and systems. They shape feedback into meaningful change, support survivor engagement forums and help amplify lived experience in co-production, training and policy influence.
